Adding bank accounts from different countries

Hello,

I'd like to add my Canadian bank account to Paypal, but I am not given the option when I am asked to choose my bank's country. (The two options I am given are the UK and USA.)

Is there any way of adding a bank account that isn't British or American to a British Paypal account?

Thank you,

Heather

Hi,

here's my question: for the last 5 years I have lived in Poland, I have a polish bank account associated with my PayPal account. Now I moved to the UK, and would like to associate my UK bank account with my PayPal account, but I don't have such option.

Does it mean I would have to set up another personal  PayPal account, with the same name, but different adress and bank details? lease, note that I want to keep that PayPal that goes with polish bank account, because I still use and will continue using it.

I know that I could have one personal and one buisness accuont, but does PayPal allow one person to have 2 personal accounts but with two different adresses, emails and bank details?

thanks for help!

If you move countries you can open another paypal account in that country but have to add that countries financial sources to it (unless you are a U.S user).

The reason is that paypal is country specific and that is because there are differing banking regs per country so x1 paypal account would not apply to every country.

I'm not sure that different banking regulations is a good explanation, given that paypal appears to have the same issue also with adding credit and debit cards frmo different countries.

The easiest solution that I have found (if this is for ebay) is that there is an option to 'Unlink' the ebay account from the paypal account just to the right of the address on the confirmation page.  After this then instead of being forced into a paypal account that is in the wrong currency you are able to just put in card details like any non-paypal online payment (although it is still branded paypal).

I always pay by credit card anyway through paypal because of the added legal financial protection of paying by credit card.

Hello, dears

I have a Dominican Republic account, and I can't add a Bank Account because the system shows me only US. What is this? Why I can't add Dominican Bank to Dominican PayPal account?

Hi Likusss,

Welcome to our Community 🙂

The capabiity of a PayPal account will differ from country to country due to the specific banking regulations we must follow from region to region.

As a result, I'm afraid at this time you're only able to add a US bank to an account from the Dominican Republic and not a local bank 😞

Apologies for any inconvenience this causes and it's best to keep an eye on your local website for any updates about this process.

Have a nice eveving Likusss,

Conor

Can I ask if there is a way to transfer the money from my Lithuanian PayPal account (currency in euros) to my UK PayPal account without being charged?

Hi all , Ok so I'm the new guy with the same question . 😄 I created my account couples of years ago in Sweden and it works flawlessly with the credit card and bank account. Now I'm living in Germany and I got another bank account/credit cards . I use them both since I travel to Sweden pretty often . I was able to link both swedish and german card to my swedish PayPal but today I tried also to link the German bank account and it didn't work . 😞 So my question (and maybe also my answer ) is : Do I have to create a different email address in order to create different PayPal accounts and link everything separately according to the country to make it work ? Because that's the ONE thing don't want to do . I do everything with my phone , it's fast , simple , effective and efficient, however having 2 or 3 email accounts ( I'm moving USA next year) in your phone is so inefficient. Regards Maur0

Paypal is country specific so if you move country you have to open another paypal account in that country and add an address / phone number / and bank accounts from within that country.

The only exception is U.S users can add their bank accounts to other countries paypal accounts.

The point of Paypal I thought was to make cross border payments and financial transactions easier.  We needed something like Paypal because our banking infrastructure is so archaic and outdated.  Paypal really needs to find a way to allow people to add multiple accounts from different countries.  We're more mobile than ever.  It's ridiculous to need a permanent address in each country and to have to open so many Paypal accounts.  I'm frankly glad Paypal is separating from Ebay because Paypal can go so much further than just a payment system for Ebay.  There are no good mass disbursement systems or ways to add multiple account from different countries right now.  Come on Paypal!

Here's a question.  I have an HSBC account in Hong Kong.  US Citizen.  The address on file for that bank account is my US one.  Yes, they do allow it.  So would it be possible for me to add this account to my existing US based paypal account or do I need to open another paypal account just for Hong Kong - but my bank account address is listed in the US.  How does that work?

This is exactly my point. Otherwise why should we use paypal if it makes it (deliberately) so hard for us (customers) for its own benefit (which I hardly think has anything to do with regulations or so, it is just an excuse). This is the case for other ONLINE banking systems, and based on the difinition of boarderless, paypal is not one, but trying to show it is one...
