Can we accept AMEX using our business account

Hi there,

Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere, but I can't find an answer.

We use Website Payments Standard on our website.

A UK customer has asked if they can pay by AMEX, but all I can find is "all major cards accepted", and other sources saying that PayPal has stopped accepting it.

Since they want a bespoke order I would like to send a money request to the customer for the correct amount.

Will they be able to pay with AMEX via PayPal?

Although it might be too late in this instance, I was considering changing to Payments Pro with Virtual Terminal, as a possible solution. However, I can't see if this allows AMEX either.

Hi there rigger, 

We can accept American Express card payments made through a money request so if this is how you intent on sending the payment request then yes you will be able to accept this. 

At this time, we cannot accept payments from American Express cards through Website Payments Pro, keep an eye on the website for any changes in relation to this.
