Hi there Jellybean50,
Welcome to the Community!
If you have sent a payment request through your PayPal account, you should try cancelling it from your home computer in order to see if you have the option to cancel the request. I don't think it's possible to cancel a payment request on your mobile.
Please let me know how you get on.
David.

I cannot pretend to understand why someone who identifies himself as a "moderator" here and appears to work for PayPal would post demonstrably incorrect information in response to a question from a customer (ie Jellybean50).
I downloaded and used the PayPal Android app just last night. I understand the version of the app I downloaded is actually an upgrade from a previous PayPal Android App.
I don't understand why PayPal has allowed this app out into the world but I do hope to help fellow PayPal users sort out what would seems to be a serious flaw with the PayPal Android app that has yet to be resolved or even properly acknowledged or addressed in this forum, judging from the various questions about how to cancel a money request made through the PayPal Android App and the lack of a helpful answer that I can find in this forum or on PayPal's help pages.
I'd also like to help other PayPal users avoid wasting hours trying to figure out why the Android app isn't working as one might think it should work.
1) The PayPal Android app interface (as of the version I downloaded on March 3, 2013) is confusing enough that I somehow ended up requesting money from myself via an email that I now have listed with my PayPal account;
2) When I realized that I needed to cancel a money request to myself for obvious reasons and to another party because I'd become concerned about how the money request would appear to the person I was requesting money from, I discovered that there's no way to cancel a money request from within the Android app for PayPal;
3) I went online to my PayPal account using my laptop and learned that neither of my money requests made through the PayPal Android App were listed in my account history. I thought perhaps there was some sort of delay between my posting them in the Android app and the same requests appearing in my online account. But after more than 20 hours had passed, I started to look for an answer in the PayPal "community" and help center. I found the question from Jellybean50 from LAST YEAR and the response from PayPal_David to do what I'd already tried and not been able to do, look for the money requests in history and cancel them from my PayPal account online. I wasn't able to do this because the money requests still weren't listed anywhere in my account history no matter what terms or time periods I entered;
4) My next step was to call PayPal. I almos always get a much faster response time calling my old fashioned bank. It took nearly 17 minutes from the moment PayPal's automated system answered to the end of my conversation with the second of two customer service representatives to figure out what was happening;
5) Here's what PayPal's customer service told me:
a) you can't cancel money requests made through the PayPal Android app - as in, you can't cancel them in the PayPal Android app or via your PayPal account online;
b) money requests made via the Android app do not ever show up in your PayPal account online. Perhaps they do once they are paid but what's the use of that if you want to keep track of everything?
c) If I wish to make a money request, I should make it via my PayPal account online, not through the Android app on my smart phone, according to the customer service representative I spoke with;
d) money requests made through the Android app will "time out" and "disappear" from the Android app after a "period of time" of not being paid, said the second customer service representative I spoke with, who, when pressed, said this "period of time" is "about" 30 days.
e) the only way for me to know when these "money requests" time out and "drop off" my PayPal account - the part only visible via the Android app - is by checking the Android app until they disappear, according to the second customer service representative I spoke with. So this means that I'll have to wait at least 30 days before I can delete the PayPal Android app from my smartphone and cancel my PayPal account.
I hope this is helpful to others who appear to have faced the same issue I did with the PayPal Android app.
