Hello,
I wanted to update my paypal details and change my address. Although I can edit the address, postcode, city, etc, I cannot change the country! Yet I have moved to Italy. This obviously also affects the new bank details I'd like to enter. What should I do?
Thanks

I have been a paypal (UK) user now for many years, but I have now moved to the USA permanently. I have managed to succesfully add my american bank details to my account, but it will not let me change my address to anything outside the UK. Is it possible to do so or do I have to abandon my UK account and start afresh?
Many thanks.
John.

Hello,
I have moved from UK to Australia and seem to be unable to change the country setting in my address field.
Do I really need to register with Pay Pal Australia dn close my UK account or is there a short cut.
Any thoughts?

I also have this problem, and it's very annoying. Have bank accounts in two different countries and would obviously like to transfer funds to each of them using paypal withdrawal, but I can only join my paypal to the account set up in my home country 😞 That other country account(UK) is not something I ever use, but it has a VISA that comes in handy when shopping from some sites (that don't support Paypal for example), but I can't send money to that card, because Paypal keeps on denying the bank and card info I give them, even though they're both correct! I tried setting up a UK paypal, only for this purpose, but then the system expects a UK home address from me!!! But I don't live in the UK anymore! Still, I do have the UK bank and card I wish to join with paypal. I altered my home address with the bank itself a LOOOONG time ago, and they had no problem with it. How come Paypal makes such big of a deal when people move/have bank acc. in different countries??
That's just annoying!
I've wasted a lot of time with customer support trying to fix it, until I realized it's just unfixable. And that really **bleep**. I wish someone will alter the policy in the future. Because I do recall having that UK bank joined to a non-UK paypal in the past, So it must have been possible at some point. They just re-wrote the rules and they are now worse.
Sorry for ranting, it's just really bugging me.

Yep, I have that problem too. A credit card registered in the UK with my French address, all legit, but no way to add it to Paypal account. This is so outdated! Aargh!!

Hi guys,
A lot of you have asked the same question in the last few days, so I have moved all of your questions to the one post.
As you may see in my previous response, it isn't possible at this time to change the country that your PayPal account has been registered to. There are a few things that you could try however if you wish to keep your PayPal account opened.
For example, if you still have financial information in the country that your account was registered in, you could leave the financial details registered to your account and then you would only need to change the shipping address when making payments through your PayPal accounts.
If you are trying to register a new card in the country that you have moved to, you could try registering the card using as much of the billing address that you can enter on the PayPal website and we would try to add the card to your account for you. You won't be able to change the country on the billing address section but if your bank accept the address that we supply, there should be no issue in you registering the card.
I hope this helps,
David.

Yes I agree wholeheartedly .. but my problem is subtly different. Although I now live in Spain my Bank is still in UK, so I have a UK Credit Card but a Spanish Billing address - PayPal simply will not accept this, ridiculous especially as my bank has no problem with this!)
This happens if I try to pay without using my PayPal account (PP supposedly accepts CC payments without an account - but it still will not accept UK card but Spanish Billing address)

Sooo agree!! The suggestion of changing the billing address is all very well (each time you order? Not very convenient, which is what I thought Paypal was all about) but if they can accept the billing address in another country, why can't they accept anything else? We sent a man to the Moon in the 60s. This can't be beyond current technology! And although I've only just started with this process, I can see already how it's driving Paypal customers nuts.
I want to register my Paypal account in France with my French bank account. I can't. why not?
