Does money in paypal expire?

I use my paypal account to get my salary from my boss who's at USA (I'm from the Philippines).

I already reached my sending limit because whenever I receive my salary, I always send it to my mother-in-law's account (why? Because I don't have a card to link on and she has, so, after sending it to her, she will send it to her bank account, widthraw the money, and give it back to me).

I just got married and when I registered an account in paypal, I used my husband's surname..which is ROXAS. The problem is, I don't have any ID's(one of the requirements in getting a card) using "ROXAS" as my surname. All of my valid ID's are with the "HAO" (my surname before I got married) and I still haven't got my marriage certificate. I have no choice but to leave the money in paypal while I'm waiting for my marriage cert.

So, I am asking.....DOES THE MONEY IN PAYPAL EXPIRE?

Money in PayPal does not expire, but to keep sending personal payments to another person i.e the same person could raise a flag on your account. The reason for having to verify is due to money laundering laws.

You would be better placed to close the old account and open a new one in the name you have a bank account in.

However, you are not permitted to just open accounts to bypass security/verification checks on a regular basis.

I assume you are not in the UK as marriage certificates are issued at the same time as you are married?

Hey there CzarinaHaoRoxas,

As classy-diva says the funds won’t expire while in your PayPal account balance. Smiley Happy

So you can leave them in your account until you lift your sending limit.
