Problem adding a credit/debit card.

Hello

I'm having a problem adding a debit card on PayPal and when I add my debit card number it says: Please enter a valid credit card or debit card number.

My debit card type is Maestro but it is owned by MasterCard so I think it works. I tried adding the code with spaces and without spaces and still no results, it was created 1 month ago so could it be fresh and too soon to be used or PayPal doesn't accept Maestro debit cards?

I will try to answer your specific questions below now:

Therealkane, can I ask how many digits are on your card? Are there 16? Is the card also a credit or debit card?

Usually, customer's get the error message you are receiving if they are trying to register the card in the correct format with spaces or other charachters after every four digits. Could you try using a different browser in order to see if that assists with you getting the card registered to your account?

Ns-r, if you are trying to get a friend to send you money via PayPal, all they would need is the primary email address on your PayPal account. When they click the Send Money tab, they will be able to send the payment directly to your email address and it will show in your PayPal account.

Thanks David for your reply and I'm sorry for responding now.

It is a debit card as I said in the first post and yes, it has 16 digits. It has a Maestro logo on it but Maestro is owned by MasterCards as I know. I've tried using different browsers and no results. It keeps saying that the debit or credit card is invalid.

Sorry about the delay in getting back to you on this.

Have you tried using your card on other websites other then PayPal? I am not sure what exactly your issue could be and I am unable to see your PayPal account so I can't investigate it further on your behalf. 

My best advice for you would be to try contacting customer services directly and we will be able to investigate it for you. When you contact us, let us know what the exact error message is that you are getting and we will be able to investigate it further for you.

I notice several other Paypal users like myself are having problems trying to add the new MASTERCARD DEBIT card.

I have emailed Paypal but had NO response, in the meantime I have a transaction awaiting payment,why are Paypal not addressing the issue?

I'm having same problem. I have new Mastercard, 16 digits that I can not add. It says "We're sorry, but that credit card can't be linked to additional PayPal accounts. Please link a different credit card." I do not understand. This card works everywhere online.
