Sending money to mainland China

I find it difficult to make heads or tails of the complex Paypal methods, so could someone help me with a brief explanation. If I want to send money from my Paypal funds to a Chinese company to buy something (as on Ebay but not through Ebay), from the UK in US dollars, does Paypal charge me a fee and do I get their payment protection scheme?

If I think I lose in the transaction, by paying in US dollars, will Paypal let me pay in the Chinese Yuan?

Thanks

Hi fredmila,

If you wish to send a payment to a Chinese company outside of an eBay transaction you can click on the send money tab. Once you click that the item is for a goods payment then you will be covered under our seller protection policy. It is free to send the payment however you may be charged a currency conversion fee for changing your funds to USD.

I would suggest that you review our fees by clicking here:

I hope this helps

HI PAULA I AM IN A SIMILAR SITUATION TO UR PREVIOUS POSTER. I AM ABOUT TO SEND MONEY TO CHINA THROUGH MY PAYPAL ACCOUNT FOR SOME GOODS IM BUYING IN CHINA. THEY TOO HAVE ASKED ME FOR US DOLLARS. I AM NEW TO THIS. I HAVE HEARD THAT PAYPAL ONLY RELEASE THE MONEY TO THE MANUFACTURER AFTER I CONFIRM THAT I HAVE RECEIVED THE GOODS. IS THIS CORRECT? IF NOT, SHOULD I NOT RECEIVE THE GOODS FROM CHINA AFTER IVE PAID WHAT CAN I DO?

THANKS
