Transfer/Payment limit

Hi,

I have a large sum of money I need to transfer from a bank account in euros in France to a bank account in sterling pounds in the UK and I was considering using paypal for that.

I have a paypal account set up with my French bank account and another paypal account set up with my British bank account and I thought I could just do a payment to my 'British Paypal account' from my 'French Paypal account'.

I already did that for small amounts as this gives me better transfer rates than doing it directly between my 2 banks.

I was wondering if there is a maximum limit for such transfer.

Hey there Chouchenlolo,

Welcome to the community.

Each PayPal account when it’s opened has a sending and receiving limit. For the UK the general sending limit is £1000 and the receiving limit is £1900.There is a £5500 sending limit on a single transaction.

I have had my Paylpal accounts for a while and liked with my bank accounts since ce begining to get them 'certified' (word used at that time to qualify a paypal account on which further checks had been performed).

Would this untitle me to higher sending limits?

Hi ChouchenLolo, 

If you have a verified PayPal account then you should have no sending limit on your account. Once you confirm your bank account on your PayPal account it should automatically lift your sending limit. It may be that it did not lift on your account and would need to be manually lifted. 

I would recommend that you contact us via the contact us link and advise that your account is already verified and to review your sending limit for you.
