Transferring between my international accounts. Fees? Help!!!

I am from the UK but am also a Canadian citizen.   A friend sent me some money into my UK Paypal account instead of my Canadian one.   Am I able to tranfer from the UK Paypal account to the Canadian Paypal one without fees?  

Otherwise I have to transfer the Canadian dollars into Pounds into my UK bank account and then back into Canadian dollars into my Canadian chequing account and end up incurring a loss with fees/exchange rates.  😞

As the transfer of funds is between a UK account and a Canadian one there will be a cross border fee, which we can't avoid. It is 0.5% of the transaction.

You can send money to anyone with an email address through the ‘Send Money’ tab. You can send money to friends and family or pay for products or services you've purchased.

To send money:

1. Log in to your PayPal account at www.paypal.co.uk .
2. Click 'Send Money' near the top of the page.
3. Enter the email address of the recipient and the amount and currency of the payment.
4. Choose the option that describes why you're sending money. For Personal payments it's free when funding comes from the PayPal balance or the bank account linked to the PayPal account.
5. Click 'Continue'.
6. Review your payment details including the payment method and currency. To change any information, click the ‘change’ link in the relevant section. Note: If you change any payment details, the payment method will automatically return to your default method of payment.
7. Review your postage information and add a message to the recipient (optional).
8. Click 'Send Money' to complete the payment.

HI there -

A related question -  I am from the US and have a US Paypal account, however am on assignment abroad in the UK.

Is it possible to add my UK HSBC bank account to my US Paypal account?    So far, when I go to add an account, I only see an option for adding US accounts.

I would like to be able to use PayPal to transfer between the two of them.

Hi there donquijote22,

You can't add a UK bank account to a US PayPal account as PayPal is country specific.

If you have a UK address & financials however you can open a UK PayPal account for the time that you are residing in the UK.

I had an Indian Paypal account, how ever when I shifted to Canada, I was not able to add my Canadian bank account to it, so I had to close the Indian Paypall account & open new in Canada, how ever I was looking towards sending money to my parents in India via Paypal. Both (Canadian & Indian) bank account are on my name, could I create another Indian Paypal account with Indian bank details with same email ID and do transaction between them (Canadian Paypal & Indian Paypal account) ?

Besides cross border fee & transaction fee, will I be charged anything else ?
