Hi

I am building a website and have included the Ecwid ecommerce setup and used Paypal as the one and only payment option.

I have added a test item for 1p gone through checkout and paid with an different account than the one set to receive payments through the shop. So paid fro account A to account B.

My buying account A says there is a unclaimed payment, where as the Paypal account B connected to receiving payments doesn't show any activity at all.

Naturally I need to be able to receive payments from customers, please can you help me get to the bottom of this?

An unclaimed payment can be a few reasons:

  • The recipient hasn’t signed up for a PayPal account yet.
  • You sent money to an email address that the recipient hasn’t added to their PayPal account. As soon as they add the address to their account, the money will show up in their balance.

First check your accounts to ensure that both were setup properly.  As you setup two accounts, they both have to have unique email addresses, bank accounts and credit cards for verification and removing limits.  It may be as simple as not verifiying an email address in the one account.

Ok so I've checked the Paypal account attached to the shop and its the primary email address on the Paypal account, plus the account is verified.

They are completely different accounts with different email and bank details, one is mine and the other my clients.

I've also checked the email address it the same in Ecwid control panel for the shop and it is, just incase I'd done something stupid.

What else might it be?

have you confirmed both email addresses on the accounts? if not that that is a reason why money would go unclaimed
