I've used Paypal for years without any trouble, however the last few weeks it has been a nightmare. It will not let me send payments for ebay items, items for stores such as New Look etc.
I have several cards on the account and money in my Paypal account however at random times i'm getting the message "payment cannot be authorised" or this card can't be used try another. I have contacted my bank and there is no block on any cards so cannot see why there is a problem.

Hi, I am experiencing exactly the same problem as you trying to pay for eBay items. I've used Pay-Pal for 6 years and never had this before. Refusals seems random; one payment will go thru next is refused. I reckon it's a software glitch in their new security measures. PP are very quiet which probably means they know this is happening but can't be bothered to fix it...
Any ideas anyone?

Hi there, whenever we use a card to fund a payment, we cannot demand funds, we merely request them from your card issuer. It is they who accept or decline our request. The issue may be that:
- The card issuer might be having technical problems that prevent us from requesting the authorisation.
- The card issuer, as part of its own fraud prevention measures, might block the transaction because it doesn’t fit your normal spending patterns.
- Your card may not support online payments.
- You might have exceeded the limit on your card.
Please review the financial details in the “Profile” section of your PayPal account to ,ake sure all your fianncial details are correct.
