how can I tell if an invoice has been paid?

Hi


I've issued an invoice to a buyer (to cover the costs of postage and packing as it was a collection only item but I've agreed to post it). He says he's paid the invoice, but I can't tell if he has or not.

The payment status says 'sent', when you hover over 'sent' it says 'the invoice was sent to the recipient and is pending payment' - so that's obviously referring to the invoice, not the payment. There is also a tab to 'remind' the buyer about the invoice.

So, it's saying the invoice is to be paid, but when I look at the tab 'payments received' it is listed on this tab.

 

I'm finding it totally confusing, has it been paid or not - I feel there are conflicting messages from Paypal. I can't really tell if it's been paid from my balance either, as I have quite a few other transactions and none of it adds up to the amount in the total!

Hi 3572, 

 

When an invoice has been paid the status of it should change from sent to paid. If it is still showing as sent then it means that you have sent it correctly but it has not yet been paid. You will also receive a payment notification email once payment is received.
