how to run my paypal account

hi am new to paypal, have just opened an account while registering it asked 1.  if i wanted to set up either with a bank account or debit/credit card i chose my debit card... dont know if thats the correct procedure.

2. Once i completed registration my account balance is zero, if i want to buy anything on ebay do i have to add funds by clicking on the link?

3. i tried to buy on ebay the buyer was asking to display " credit card on file" i dont have a credit card and i dont want to put my debit card on file..... is it compulsory to do so!

Hi mydei,

When you add a debit card to your PayPal account, it is added that same as a credit card, there is no difference between them on PayPal. When you are buying something using PayPal or on eBay you do not need to provide your card details to another user. If just need to click on the pay now option and log in to your PayPal account.

Once your debit card is registered to your PayPal account you do not need to add funds to your account as we will just request that funds directly from your debit card.
