payment not authorised

 I have not been able to use my Paypal account for the last week as every time I try to pay for something it says the payment can not be authorised. I have funds in my bank account so don't understand what the problem is. Can anyone advise?

Im new to using paypal, can you answer whether or not I need funds in my paypal account first to be able to buy from ebay or not please?

In the past, I have not needed funds in my paypal account as the money is withdrawn directly from my bank account.

Hi all!

Welcome to the community! 

I've seen this in the past for other customers and it happens when your bank/card company denies our request to take funds on your behalf. They don't go into details with us I'm afraid.
