why does my payment take so long to clear?

hi i have brought some item on ebay and everytime it comes up with an hour glass and take about a week to process how can i make the payment clear faster i am new to paypal and am struggling to work it out  someone please help me x

you are paying via e-cheque thats why you are taking a week to clear payments. you need to set up an instant bank transfer. fill in the paypal direct debit form to instruct your bank, then paypal will send 2 amounts to that bank account within 3 working days. you then enter these amounts into paypal to confirm that you have received them and you can then make an instant transfer regardless of paypal funds. when you purchase off ebay or whatever it will give you an option within the checkout  to select either credit card, e-cheque or ibt. select ibt and away you go!

I have two payment marked 'pending'. I have never had a problem before and buy a lot through paypal. I have updated my card details AND transferred a lump sum of cash to my account which more than covers the payments but they are still not going through.

I have tried calling the 'helpline' - ha! - never was a system designed to be more unhelpful and infuriating!

I have emailed the 'helpdesk' but I just got a standard reply which did not help either.

I am so fed up at the amount of time I am having to waste trying to sort what should not be a problem.

Any proper help greatly appreciated!

I agree. It's completely ridiculous. You wouldn't have customers come into your shop take and item and say 'Come back in 21 days to pay for it please'. Why should we send our item if our money hasn't been available to us. 5 days or something max would be fine. Butnearly a month? that's ridiculous. I'm gonna find some other way of accepting payment.
