Adding a new credit card

Hi, I have been trying to add a new debit/credit card as well but everytime I click the add a card button, nothing happens, it resets to the same screen showing the card I already have on the account.   Wreed.

I've sent a email message every day in hopes that it would come to someone's attention. I also called a day ago and they said they were having computer problems, and to try the "add a new card" in an hour or so, it should be fixed by then - well that was yesterday. This problem can make PayPal useless, so you would think they would be right on fixing it.

There are multiple threads in this forum concerning the problem of the user not being able to add a new credit card (from the Profile update screen).  (Click on Add a New Card, nothing happens.) Apparently, Paypal doesn't believe its users, because the error persists.

If you read the numerous posts, users have complained to Paypal reps, but apparently the complaint is not ultimately reaching the managers who can test, confirm, and affect a change, or Paypal's sanctimonious egotism prevents them from believing that dumb users actually have discovered a real problem.  (The common belief is that all users are stupid, and if something isn't working, the user MUST be doing something wrong.)

But this is a REAL Paypal problem, not a dumb user problem.  It may not affect ALL users, but some users REALLY cannot add a credit card.

Sooner or later, Paypal will do something about this.  But it has left a very sour taste in  my mouth about Paypal's competence and responsiveness to its customers.

It's account specific. Using the sam computer, browser, etc. my daughter can log into her paypal, co to card profile, click the add button and PRESTO! -- she can add a card. No amount of trying on my account will get me there. The only difference is that she does NOT have a PayPal MasterCard, only the debit card. I have the MasterCard, but not the debit card

I FOUND A SOLUTION!!!!! Its not ideal but it works.

You have to login to PayPal to make a purchase. I won an eBay auction and when I clicked on 'pay now' it took me to my PayPal login. After logging in it directs you to your receipt. On the receipt page it shows your default payment method for PayPal (this is for people who have multiple cards on their PayPal account. Next to my payment method (my PayPal Plus Mastercard) it gives the option to CHANGE payment method. When you click on this is takes you to the screen that shows all of the cards, bank accounts, ect. that are attached to your PayPal account. On this screen it gives you the option to ADD A CARD. If you click on 'Add a Card' from this page it will let you. 

I don't know why the link works on that page but doesn't in the PayPal account section but this way DOES work! I was able to add my card and pay for my won auction on time.

Here's a work around:

1) Log in

2) Click Send Money

3)Pick any listed PayPal member in the TO drop down menu

4)Enter 1.00 into amount

5)Click continue

6) In middle of page, under payment method. click change

7)In upper right hand corner, under secure transaction, click Add Credit Card

8)Fill in all of the new card info and click Add A Card Button

9)Do NOT click send money!! Go to My Account Tab

10)Drop down Profile menu, go to Add or Edit Credit Card and see your new card info added

11) Smile

1) Log in

2) Click Send Money

3)Pick any listed PayPal member in the TO drop down menu

4)Enter 1.00 into amount

5)Click continue

6) In middle of page, under payment method. click change

8)Fill in all of the new card info and click Add A Card Button

9)Do NOT click send money!! Go to My Account Tab

10)Drop down Profile menu, go to Add or Edit Credit Card and see your new card info added

I'm also having the same problem with my card, everytime I try to add a card it doesn't redirected me to that area where you put all the info. it stays in the same page. I deleted my old card because thought the page was updated with a way of limited credit cards. I tried with two computer and through my mobile and nothing new happens. The thing now is that I can't buy nothing from now because I deleted my last card and can't add a new one. Hope they fix this issue soon.

The last comment is probably the right answer to this particular problem. Might be a way to force you to use their mastercard without the option to use another.

I'm so dissapointed right now! I want to put my new credit card on my account & remove a card I no longer have, therefore unusable! Thus my problem, I've bid on a computer part I need ASAP & now cannot pay for it because I cannot update my account. I NEED FAST HELP! PAY Pal... be a PAL & help all of us to get current!!
