Hello everyone, I have a US Direct Express card in which my primary source of income arrives on.  I would like to add funds to my account using this card.  This card is not connected to any bank that I know of.  Is there any to add funds from this card?

Thank you

At this time, the only card that can be used to add into the balance is here: https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin?cmd=xpt/Marketing/demo/additionalpayment/GreenDot-outside&bn_r=o

Welcome to the boards!

Good news - you don't have to add funds into your balance to send a payment.  If the card can be successfully registered,  you should be able to just select it during checkout and we'll charge the card directly.

Hope this helps,

rjendreson,

PayPal doesn't recommend adding pre-paid cards, as they seldom pass our security procedures and can result in other issues, especially if a payment is refunded back to the card and you have since destroyed the card after depletion.  Additionally, as the charges on pre-paid cards don't always pays the security check that is required for every single transaction, it may not even work to charge the card.  Instead, we recommend registering a traditional debit or credit card.

However, adding a credit or debit card, or linking and confirming a credit or debit card, will not verify a US account.  In order to verify a US account, the options listed above would have to be exercised.

Hope this helps,

Adrian

This relates to a question I just asked.

Soooo.... I just register a debit card, and then I can make payments through PayPal and the amount is taken off of the debit card????

That is what I understood from what you wrote, but I am not sure if it is right.

And, relating back to my question, would registering that debit card (a MasterCard) verify my account?

Thanks for clearing the fog!

You are correct!  There's no need to add funds first - if you register the card, we'll just charge the card directly.  Smiley Happy

As for Verifying your account, to do so, you would want to add and confirm a bank account or apply for and be instantly approved for PayPal Smart Connect, the PayPal Extras MasterCard, or the eBay MasterCard.

Hope this helps,
