How to remove a card?

I have a bank account with a debit/credit card.  Last month I lost the debit card and the bank sent me a new one to log onto with a new ID and use this new card going forward with my same bank account.  I entered the correct info moving forward with Paypal also as a new card, but ran into some difficulties.  What I want to ask is if the first card could be deleted so the newer card is the only on file.

Thanks.

Hello vgarchitect

If you would like to remove an older card that is on file you may do so by following these instructions:

  1. Log in to your account.
  2. Click Profile near the top of the page. (Don’t see this step? Follow the instructions below.)
  3. Click Credit/Debit Cards under Financial Information.
  4. Select the credit card to remove and click Remove.

Or

  1. Log in to your account
  2. Click Profile near the top of the page.
  3. Click My money.
  4. Click Update beside Debit and credit cards.
  5. Select the credit card to remove and click Remove.

That procedure doesn't work.  At least in my case, it ALWAYS says it can't remove a card with a pending transaction.  I've had an obsolete card stuck on there for more than a month.  And, it's not the first time.  The last time it happened, we had to call in and have a person remove the card.
