Paypal isnt taking my citibank credit card...

I got it in the mail today and activated it..

 

Its not taking it...how do i fix this

I meant to say irs a debit card..does that make a difference?

I don't think it makes a difference.

 

I've always waited a few business days after activation and never had a problem.

Paypal's new security model does not accept CitiBank Credit Cards anymore. You can verify your identity using a CitiBank Credit Card but purchases will be refused by their automated computer system. This also holds true for direct transfers of money to another Paypal Account. Paypal is slowly moving away from all Credit Card purchases because it costs the company money. Eventually, all purchase will be made using a Bank Account or Gift Card. Most people are not aware of this

If that is the case, then it would be an ideal time for another "paypal" type company to come along.  This one shouldn't sell out to Ebay.  That or more people will get merchant accounts.  They may think they are saving money but the drop in sales and fees on Ebay will be substantial.   I remember the good old days when Paypal was free and Ebay was affordable.
