Trouble linking Numerica Credit Union account

I recently tried to link my Numerica Credit Union account to PayPal. Everything seemed to work, but after a week there was no sign of any deposits to confirm the account. After I tried once more to add the account, I recieved this message: 

"The account you entered would need additional review. Please link a different bank account. If you would still like to use this bank account, you may fax us a copy of the bank statement with the two amounts PayPal deposited in your bank account shown and a copy of your driver's license or other photo I.D. You must use this form for your fax cover sheet and send the fax to (402) 537-5780."

I would not feel safe sending such information by fax or otherwise, and even if I did, no deposits were made anyway.

Does PayPal not accept credit unions? Do I need to call my bank to give them special permission to accept the deposits first? Can anyone help?

I have encountered the same problem with Coastal Federal Credit Union..... I hope someone has an answer to this. I didn't get the error message when I first entered the bank information, I saw the message when when I looked to see if I could use it.  The two small deposits haven't showed up in my Coastal account either.

The problem has been solved. PayPal sent me an email saying that my bank didn't recognize the account number I entered. I contacted my bank and was told that the account number they gave me was three digits short. After getting the complete account number I was able to link my bank account without any further problems.

I hope this helps others having the same or similar issues.
