I entered a new credit card and thought that it was all set to make all payments from there. Today I have found out that paypal is making the payments from my checking account. I don't really have enough money in there. I need the money to be taken from my credit card. Is there anyway to get this done? I tried to remove my bank account and they said I can't because there are pending charges..... uggggghhhhhhh

I'm a new ebay/paypal subscriber. I basically have the same problem as you do.
I initially gave Paypal my credit card #, and used it for purchases. Then they asked me to
have a "verified" account linking my personal bank account to Paypal. I thought this was
optional, and gave my bank account information thinking that it would be back-up for my credit card.
Apparently not. My purchases started coming out of my bank account. After contacting Paypal,
the lady informed me that now my bank account is the primary source for withdrawal. Is Paypal an "outsourced" company? The lady I spoke to was nice enough, but seemed to be reading from a "Teleprompter," and spoke with broken English so much so that I'm not entirely sure she understood that I want things switched.
She says she is going to email me steps to follow to fix this. I have money in my bank account to cover these purchases luckily, but want the credit card as primary for bigger ticket items that I may want to buy!
I think it's somewhat deceptive what Paypal did, and will consider getting out all together. I must say that so far
I've been a damned good customer! Can someone assist??

How did you manage to talk to anyone. They keep using the deleted account and have cost me over $200 in fees from my bank.

I'm sorry you are running into this issue, I will try to clarify this information for you in a better way.
Through the PayPal system there is a hierarchy to how payments are made.
When you are making your payment, it will default to the payment option closest to the top of the list. If it is anything other than a balance payment you can change the funding source by clicking on "Change" or "More funding options" to select a different way to pay.
I'm sorry for the inconvenience, but after a payment has been started from your bank account, we do not have a way to stop that from happening. I hope this information helps you with your future transactions.

This is wrong. Even after I told them what account to use they used an account that I don't use anymore and it has now cost me over $200 in fees.

I just had the same thing happen, I called my bank and told them this was an unauthorized transaction and they put a stop payment on it. Looking at my transaction history they had the correct credit card/debit card listed but still seemed to want to go to this old bank info. I went back into my personal account and it shows my current card but there was a little box that said make this your default payment so I checked that maybe it will fix it.
of course that will **bleep** up the order I am sure sigh

"you can change the funding source by clicking on "Change" or "More funding options" to select a different way to pay."
Did so, yet PP withdrew from debit card, incurring charges with a transfer from the credit card source, including overdraft charges. What of the safe transaction policy PP touts? PP should reimburse charges. If there was an inkling the drop-down box was a misdirection, it would have cost me less to transfer my money from credit card to debit card to make a purchase via PP.
PayPal is no longer a trustworthy option.

Let me know if you learn how to fix this they have cost me over $200 in fees and I'm afraid to use Paypal anymore. Even though I deleted accounts they continue to use an account that I don't use anymore.
