I have my bank account linked to PayPal. Have for years. Fully verified etc. Last week a PayPal payment went out and my balance went into the red. As soon as I realised I paid the balance on my bank card as it said it was an instant option. It's been a good few days since then and the payment to paypal has let my bank. BUT I have made 4 payments over the last 2 days and only one has been completed. The other three are showing as echeques. I have funds in my bank and usually the payments are instant. I made sure the bank details are the option for main payments. I don't understand what's going on or how I can change it back to instant payments as before? Is there anyway I can turn the end cheque option off? If not when should PayPal go back to normal instantly complete payments? Thanks
From experience an eCheque is a measure used when an instant payment method fails. This uses the Direct Debit service to capture funds in the form of, well, an electronic cheque as such.
I could provide useless advice, but I'd advise giving PayPal a ring, they have the tools to investigate those transactions and assist with preventing further eCheque's from being created.
If there was one piece of advice I could provide; avoid using your bank account on PayPal other than to withdraw, use your card for purchases and if it declines, do not use an eCheque through the bank. PayPal often manage to bulls it up like in this case and the feeling of not knowing when the funds will be taken from the bank is not nice, especially in my experience, when I've had an eCheque completed 3 days before the estimated completion date.
