Account limited due to creating it while under 18

Hello,

I was requested to provide proof of my identity and my account got limited for being created when I was under 18. This is an odd way to punish someone for confirming their identity considering I am over 18 at the moment. I have no problems with creating a new account, but I would like to least use the same email that I am using with this one since is my main and only available email. The fact that I am blocked from even closing my PayPal account seems over the top for a breach of rules that the company was only aware of because I actually gave my identity, meaning that if I just stayed anonymous, it wouldn't have been a problem. This is not the way to encourage people to give accurate identity documents.

Is there any way that I could make a new account but keep my current email? I do not see the point in me using a different email if I am going to use the same financial information anyway. This is highly inconvenient and I hope the management over at PayPal change their system since I do understand breaching ToS is not minor but there is no point essentially blacklisting my email. I will definitely consider switching to another competitor of PayPal and warn others about this unless my email is removed from this effective blacklist.
