Is there an age limit for Paypal in the UK? I can't find any reference to it in the T&Cs.
My young cousin opened an account so he could play on Fortnight, he's 14 now, but was 13 at the time.
Not sure what proof, if any, he used, if the age limit needed proof.
Long story short, he got scammed on some Fortnight trading deals and owes a small amount as PayPal refunded the scammers.
Out of the blue a letter arrives from debt collectors. Now he apparently owes some debt collection agency for the outstanding money owed to PayPal.
My view is that he shouldn't have been able to open an account in the first place.
Can anybody help?

Paypal does not allow account holders under the age of 18.
PayPal asks for a birth date when they register so whilst they can make a PayPal account with false information the account will be subject to sending and receiving limits.
When they reach those limits they would be unable to verify their account so their account would be locked for further use.
Minors can’t enter legal contracts so they wouldn't have any recourse to get any money back if there were funds in their paypal balance.
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.

Thanks @kernowlass that helps.
Do you know if there are any proof of age requirements, or proof of ID, to join?
I can't recall from my own joining process. Just asking to understand whether the child needed any help from an adult to complete joining procedure.
Kind regards
