Anyone else dealing with this scam?

I made the mistake of thinking a front company was legit because they were working through paypal and i thought paypal vetted their business partners, and was scammed out of some money. I'm assuming the way they get you is to say the shipment is late and to be sure you get the wrong product after the cutoff date for getting a refund?

In any case these guys are a scam:

Youin International Electronic Commerce Co., Ltd.

If it's obvious you're being played and yet Paypal accepts no responsibility for getting you your money back, is there any recourse? i had never used paypal before this most recent situation and certainly never will again, i just hate being lied to.

anyone have luck getting money back?

cheers:)

Not this particular scam but PayPal is no longer helping its customers. Twice I have been frauded. Once on a scam dial at to yours and once by Microsoft. In both cases PayPal is not willing to help in any way.

Sadly you bought from one of the below, did you open a dispute and if so what happened?

You have up to 180 days to open a dispute so pretty much 6 months, surely you didn't wait that long?

Chinese Web Sites or on Social Media ads easy to spot (once you know the below signs) so buyer beware.

1. No return address on the returns policy. The site will look as if its in your country (where they despatch goods from) but they will ask for returns to go back to China (returns depot) at a shipping cost often more than the item is worth.
2. No contact telephone number. if you click on contact the most you will get is webmail or an email address.
3. Rarely company address information.
4. Great pictures of items at bargain prices that turn out to be tat.
5. Fake reviews.
6. Google and you can often see previous company names as they change them once enough claims roll in and Paypal stop them using their services and start over.
7. Send fake tracking numbers to win item non receipt of item claims.

I did open a dispute! But nothing is happening with it. Luckily it wasn’t a ton of money, mostly I’m just mad at myself for being duped and disturbed that these companies, PayPal included, are stealing in plain sight and getting away with it:/

Do you mean your dispute is under review?

If so  ...

Paypal it appears are inundated with claims mainly from buyers that bought tat from these China websites or Social Media ads !
So all claims are being pushed back unfortunately.

As long as yours has been escalated from a dispute to a claim, and is still being reviewed then you have the chance of a refund.
Sadly you will have to wait it out in the long queue though.

However if you opened a dispute for non receipt and the item turned up then make sure you request customer services to change the dispute to one of 'not as described'.

So I tried this mystery box thing on Facebook and purchased one on the website called enon.store. I only took the ordinary box because I reckon it’s a scam, I did it anyway because you can pay through PayPal and if anything goes wrong, you can dispute it. The company name in PayPal is Youin international commerce Co., Ltd. The package arrived after 57 days, May 27,2021. 😂 dslr mystery box but I received a really tiny cube camera, like a dice (probably just 1x1) in a small box. Of course that’s definitely fraudulent/scam. I disputed it. Apparently, I will receive the refund few days after I send the item back. It means I have to pay for the return when the item doesn’t even match the shipping cost, when I paid $11.++ usd in shipping. I just folding understand why PayPal patronising their fraudulent activities by letting them do this to their customers. We trust them and we feel secure that we won’t get scam like this and they will protect their customers. But I guess it’s not happening.

They can't give you 100% cover so they give 'some' buyer and 'some' seller protection and as paypal are just the middleman its up to us to risk assess our own transactions.

You do know that you can claim those return costs back again if you have activated this link at any time before making the transaction don't you?

Its the U.S one so you would have to check your own countries if you are not in the U.S.

ok, I got scammed ==but I am getting even ===right now the company is offering me a 90% refund ==but i am holding out for 100% ===how I got even, is I filed a complaint with the postal fraud dept of the usps -=and since I scored the permi number on the mailing label ==they can **bleep** them down, I have also filed with the FTC. and the new york attorney general, and ic3.gov (the FBI) ==in my emails to vipcservice I have threatened to inform the immigration and naturalization serevce of illegals working at their drop facilities. I also send them 1 cent each day through paypal, and use claim it is on a purchase ==if you sell on paypal you know how much that initial cost is. I add a note for the heroes of June 4th (tianamen) and the liberation of the Uyghur peoples (as the government considers them a terrorst group). Lastly I am threatening to drop a dime on them to the CHinese state security police for counter revolutionary activities. (look up on wikipedia for their website).

On the 17th may 2021 I brought a Gazebo canopy for $25 + $15 shipping from California to UK with a tracking number provided but not stating who the carrier is!. On the 27th may I received a small grey padded envelope delivered by Hermes with a artificial poppy inside, at first I thought it was somebody from eBay that had sent the wrong item to the wrong address but I quickly learned it had the same tracking number as the canopy. With emails to Youin International Electronic Commerce Co., Ltd. at first they tried to state it was my mistake for buying the wrong item but because I have screenshots of what I bought they then insisted on giving me 20% discount or return it with a $20 fee. I then questioned how does something that ways under a kilo cost $20 but yet a canopy that weighs around 25 kg costs $15? No reply. Looking on trend micro Youin International Electronic Commerce Co., Ltd. is a scam site so I contacted PayPal on 1st June and the $40 is being refund.

great --paypal is still investigating mine --only because I wrote that it did not arrive yet--as i wrote almost immediately that i suspected it was a fraud. --anyway, today the company said they would refund me 100% --the way I did it was write to them a letter (which i had google translated into mandarin) that I would inform, the chinese state security police of counter-revolutionary activities (it would be allegedly written by someone in their factory)--strangely the state security police have a website. LOL. Anyway waiting for my refund.
