"both PayPal and my bank both think this is wrong"

That is it not unauthorized transaction or to give Badoo a screenshot evidence for a refund is wrong?

I suggest you cancel the automatic billing with Badoo if there is one by the way :

Go to Account Settings (gear icon) > Payments > Manage Automatic Payments

Select merchant on left, click Cancel on the right.

Contact customer service and get them to review the case again more in-depth:

Log on, click HELP on top menu, scroll down to click CONTACT US, and then scroll down to click CALL US or other contact options.

Or contact via social media:

I have very similar situation. I did research on google and it seems, that Badoo has been practicing this fraud for years! In some cases people only forgot to cancel automatic prolonging of premium account, but in more cases badoo is charging money in time of inactivity for credits - which definitely is FRAUD. I heard some stories before I made and account on Badoo and that was why I decided to use paypal to protect my account. To my shock, only three days after paying one month premium account, Badoo was able to make unauthorized payment using my Paypal account and charged me 10 euros for credits - which I am absolutely 100% percent sure I didnt click on. I was very cautious to not confirm any offers for credits. I got an invoice from Badoo and I immediately reported unauthorized payment. Funny thing is, that this action immediately set my automatic prolonging of premium account as switched off and also erased the 500 credits which I unwillingly payed for. How is this even possible? It seems to me, that paypal and Badoo have some agreement. I was especially shocked, that paypal didnt ask me anyhow to authorize such payment. I am not going to leave it like that. This fraud must stop.
