I routinely use PayPal as a method of paying for online purchases. Usually, when I do this, it appears in my PayPal account transaction history. Today, while going through my most recent credit card statement, I noticed 2 charges on the same day. One says DRIVETHR[Removed. Phone #s not permitted]GA {Georgia} and the second one says PAYPAL *DMWORKSHOP[Removed. Phone #s not permitted]CA {California} They are for different amounts and when I called the number, the machine said I called PayPal. I checked my transaction history, to see if it was a transaction I forgot to write down, but it isn't in my PayPal history. I can't go to the Resolution Page to dispute the charge, because according to PayPal, there was no charge. But I have 2 and I don't know what to do. I don't want to wait on hold for FOREVER but there is obviously something funny about these charges. What do I do?

This is an update on my question. I just figured it out and decided to leave the question up in case anyone else has the same problem.
Answer: Have you seen those vendors/online merchants where you can pay through PayPal (sign in etc) OR pay with your credit card using the PayPal service? If you sign in to your PayPal account and pay with your credit card, it shows up on your PayPal transactions. If you use the PayPal service (similar to Square) where you don't have to sign in to your PayPal account and just put in your credit card number, it still shows up as PayPal on your credit card but does not show up on your PayPal transactions. So before you try to call PayPal and wait on hold FOREVER to find out what is going on, ask the people in your house if they recognize the charge.
I see this as a problem for one reason. The credit card statement says this is a PayPal charge, but it isn't listed on PayPal, so I can't go see who the payment went to or make sure that I authorized the transaction on PayPal. The only number on the credit card statement for this charge is PayPal's, so if I have a problem with the transaction, I can't find the vendor and talk to them (or remember who they are when I hear their message). If the PayPal usage is only on the side of the vendor, then it should NOT list PayPal or use their phone number as the contact information. That just makes it confusing, especially for people who use PayPal regularly. If I didn't input my PayPal information, I can see why you can't list it on my transactions, and obviously PayPal is using their own name for this service because it is a recognized brand, but why not call it PayPal V or VendorPal or anything that indicates to the person trying to reconcile their credit card statement, that the money passed through a vendor's PayPal not their own. If I see a Square transaction listed, I'm not confused at all. Basically it all boils down to confusion or lack thereof. I need less confusion in my life, please!
