FRUAD by Huiterr.com of listing a product on Shpock and then delivering something cheap as token

Hello everyone,

There is a product (Portable Work station for £19.98 + postage £4.99 - Total £24.98) on sale by Huiterr.com on Shpock with PayPal only payment option. They then deliver some thing completely different within 7-10 days - but the con is that the item delivered is COMPLETELY different from what was advertised and of value of £1.00 - £3.00.

The payments via PayPal goes to:

Seller information Lanshan District Yinglian Food Business Co., Ltd. Invoice ID: N202104082221556012 Purchase details product £19.98 Item numberLLQ011SII1 Postage : £4.99 Total: £24.97

Now As soon as I made the payment via PayPal, I realised that the payment has gone to   Lanshan District Yinglian Food Business Co., Ltd. - which was strange as it was a Food company and I was ordering furniture/wood product, I contacted PayPal and raised as ticket for "unauthorised transaction - Ref : PP-I-14453489. PayPal team closed it a few days later saying its unable to do anything.

I have done some investigations and Huiterr.com is a new site and looks like it was created specifically for this fraud. The Company Address in UK is also a clone of another company. I will report it to Company's house and also trading standards.

Not sure what to do next. Please help!!

Anyone facing the same issues with above company(s) and PayPal actively supporting fraudulent companies?

Many thanks,

Bose

Another of these???

Chinese Web Sites or on Social Media ads easy to spot (once you know the below signs) so buyer beware.

Paypal would not be able to check every individual seller / merchant / company in over 200 countries worldwide that adds paypal to their website to accept payments.

So they give you 'some' buyer protection but the onus is on you to risk assess your transactions.

They do stop bad companies from using Paypal when enough claims start rolling in.
However as they are in China (mostly) then its easy for them to just start over with a new name, so stopping them does not really do anything.

The BEST thing is to not buy from them in the first place, to recognise them -

1. No return address on the returns policy. The site will look as if its in your country (where they despatch goods from) but they will ask for returns to go back to China (returns depot) at a shipping cost often more than the item is worth.
2. No contact telephone number. if you click on contact the most you will get is webmail or an email address.
3. Rarely company address information.
4. Great pictures of items at bargain prices that turn out to be tat.
5. Fake reviews.
6. Google and you can often see previous company names as they change them once enough claims roll in and Paypal stop them using their services and start over.
7. Send fake tracking numbers to win item non receipt of item claims.

How do I open a dispute with a seller when a purchase goes wrong?

You can open a dispute in the Resolution Centre of your PayPal account within 180 days of payment if:
•You don’t receive the item OR service
•You receive an item but it’s significantly different than the description on eBay or on the seller’s website (or you receive a totally different product).

By opening a dispute, you can communicate directly with your seller to work out a problem transaction.

If you reach an agreement with the seller you can close the dispute. If you're still not happy with the result, you can escalate the dispute into a claim. Paypal will review the claim and decide on reimbursement.

These steps apply to Personal accounts. If you have a Business account, please log in to see the steps that apply to you.

To open a dispute:
1.Log in to your PayPal account.
2. Click on the transaction and use the resolve a problem option at the bottom of that details page.

Note:
•Generally buyers must wait at least 7 days from the date of payment to escalate a dispute for an item not received
•Where an item has not been received, please ensure you have given the seller enough time before opening a dispute

Do not close the dispute until you have a refund or your item.
If a seller states that they can't refund until you have closed the dispute don't believe them.
Escalate the dispute to a claim within 20 days (before it times out), if you need Paypal to get involved.

If you lose because the seller provides a fake tracking number then post back here for more advice.
If the item arrives and its not what you ordered / not as described then make sure you change the dispute quickly from non receipt. If the dispute times out before you can change it then contact customer services to open a second dispute for the new reason.

Activate the below link in case you have to return the item at Paypals request (or the correct one for your country as this is the U.S link).

https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/mpp/returns

If that does not work then if you funded your paypal payment via a card then contact your card issuer and see if they will issue a chargeback.

Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.

This item came up on microsoft games, so therefore surely the onus for diligence rest on microsoft as the ones that I would assume recieve payment for running adverts, so therefore in cases like this are profiting from crime

Yes, totally agree. Excuse saying there are hundreds of suppliers is no use. Amazon ensure consumer rights are protected from Fraudulent companies. PayPal are NOT bothered, as they just make money from criminal gangs wo set these companies up. Please continue to raise awareness as they (huiterr.com) is still selling non existant goods using PayPal.

Happened to me as well with Huiterr. Would also suggest you report the company to the Chinese Embassy, as China takes commercial fraud within its borders VERY seriously. Does anyone know where the actual product is available from, as I’m so disappointed not to get it, as it looks excellent, and is clearly a real product.

Hiya, I bought a different item, and received a travel pillow, I ordered a inflatable travel bed. I was successful in receiving my money back. Firstly, open your dispute and tell them that your bank has said you are due a refund. I went on a little rant if I'm honest! I was so angry because the sellers had emailed me back, calm as you like, sooo yeah! I told PayPal how disappointed I was that the fraud was made via their site, that I use their site daily, and now I was supposed to send back the travel pillow to China. I said that I absolutely refuse to do that, as the seller knows it was NOT the item I ordered, it would cost a lot and the sellers were relying on my not wanting to lose even more money. I informed PayPal that they are supposed to protect my trading online, and this goes against trading standards. They did NOT reply, but sent the refund for the full amount. Good luck. X

I’m fuming as I purchased this as a gift and the add said buy one get one free. Cost was more than others on here had paid too. I only bought it in the knowledge if I paid via PayPal I had security. I got a very cheap metal folding thing (tat) turn up today, delivered by Hermes; not what I ordered and not buy one get one free. The whole transaction is nothing like what I ordered. I will follow the advice of others who have fallen for the con before me and raise the dispute with PayPal. This is fraud pure and simple. Not happy

I had the same issue - I saw an interesting item on a social media ad, went to buy one and a week or two later received a cheaper item which only passingly matched the item description but with none of the quality of the advertised item.

I was fortunate enough to have sent the payment to an unconfirmed PayPal account, so after a month I got my money back in full. It's not my responsibility that the fraudsters didn't keep their accounts up to date. I'll continue to waste their time over email. So far I have an address for them in China, but it might be totally made up and be the location of a fully legit company, I have no way of knowing.
