A friend asked me on Facebook to receive a PayPal payment for them and bank transfer them the money, as they couldn't get their account to work. Once I had transferred the money the payment was marked as unorthorised and the money putting my PayPal account into negative funds. The situation is open for dispute but I don't know how to report that this is fraud

I’ve just had the exact same thing happen for £480. What the outcome of yours? I can’t seem to talk to anyone and collections keep ringing

absolutely  nothing, Facebook, PayPal and Bank did nothing to help me, I reported it to action fraud and have heard nothing, they just say it was my fault, I gave them the money, I still feel very stupid, In have unfriended my cousin, whose account was hacked and I'm in debt for over a grand, I wouldn't fall for it again
good luck

I’m sorry this happened to you too. So are you paying it? I’m refusing to pay it and may take it to Rip of Britain

Refused to pay it and created a new PayPal 🙂 that’s not a bad idea that!

I paid it because PayPal were threatening me but I have ended up in debt because of it, my husband is disabled so we only have my wage and so its hard
The only excuse I can give is that they caught me after a long day at work and they were actually posting replies to me on her Facebook page
I unfriend people now who get cloned or enter to many of those daft competitions or like posts like the poorly children
I am a very aware person, they wouldn't catch me again

they were threatening me as well and told where to go.. when i had a call with the debt collectors i told them what happened and to be fair to them they referred it back to paypal because paypal didnt give them the full story - that it was being investigated for fraud. im sorry to hear about your husband, and i absolutely get how hard it is, but now youve paid it its not likely youll get anything back as they could see it as you accepting the blame but i get why you did it to get it out of your hair. these people are scum they really are!

The best person I’ve spoken to were the debt collector! He apologised I’d had so much trouble getting through to PayPal and gave me an email address for me to send all my evidence. I had screen shot all my PayPal ‘chat’, hacked messenger, PayPal Twitter and copied my official complaint email (never replied to me apart from the automated rubbish) also action fraud and send it to him. PayPal call have stopped for the time being thank goodness. It’s so worrying.
