Hermes lost parcel, open dispute

Hope anyone can help... I bought an item through Facebook three month ago. I also paid postage for hermes. Hermes has picked up the package, which I have proof of, and now the parcel ist lost. They can't find it anymore. The seller and I keep contacting hermes about a refund of postage and a compensation for the lost item. We can't seem to get any further with hermes, they keep telling us it is in the hands of the depending department and they will get back to us between 24 and 48 hours. How I said this is going on for three month. No emails about which seems to be the problem or any further information or money back. My question now. Do I open a dispute here on PayPal and order my money back from the seller (which wasn't her fault and I don't like to do this) or do I wait for hermes and risk of not getting my money back at all. Help would be very much appreciated. Thank you all

Open a dispute to get your refund and then its up to the seller to claim from Hermes with any insurance etc that they took out.
