I know there is no 'easy' way to return a non working heavy expensive 3d printer to China, but as its not something I have done before so I do need some advice.
The printer cost USD 500.., was supposedly from a reputable company. But it turned up non working, with serious software and fabrication defects. Lesson learned. Paypal will refund as long as I return it to China. But my options appear to be limited. Parcel Monkey, if I read it correctly seem to prohibit returning printers to China. I'm not sure I am correct in that. Does China prohibit printers being returned to manufacturers?
Paypal will refund £15 of the return postage costs, but that is likely to be insignificant to the actual cost of returning this parcel.
What sort of tracking does the courier need to do to ensure I comply with paypal return requirements. How do i know a courier complies with paypal's requirements. What do I look for?
Not sure if China allows printers to be returned to China, if exported from China. Also not sure of the customs position (will I need to pay, how do I find this out)/?
I have a horrible feeling I have lost the money paid for this printer, with no way to return it or even if it cost 500USD, it won't be worth returning it.
I know I have been a fool, I was assured by someone who supposedly knew a lot about 3d printing that this company was good. Obviously I shouldn't have listened. Normally I only buy cheap items from China, and am pleasantly surprised if it works, and I don't do that often. Think I am going to be properly burned with this transaction.
I have googled for answers but not found anything useful out. China does do a no customs scheme for goods returning to China, but only for businesses and might have been for 2020 only.

Firstly ring and talk to customer services and explain what happened and you may get lucky and not have to return it.
Secondly how did you fund your paypal payment? If via a credit card then have you considered a chargeback instead?
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.
