My husband and I purchased Yankee tickets on Craigslist for $500 and sadly, we were scammed. We gave the so-called "seller" our banking info and the money was taken out of our account via Paypal but we never received the tickets and never heard from the seller again. This person continues to sell tickets on Craigslist, scamming other people. We filed a dispute with Paypal and they came back saying since we authorized the payment our claim was denied. According to Paypal, it doesn't matter that we didn't receive the goods. We have tried contacting Paypal but there is no way to get a hold of them or redispute the claim. Once the claim is final you have no recourse and we cant get anyone to answer he phone. Anybody have any suggestions?

Bit confused, if you were using paypal then why would you give someone your banking info !!!!

The whole point of paypal is to keep that information confidential.

Also why did you open a dispute for unauthorised rather than non receipt of item?

An unauthorised transaction is telling paypal that your account was hacked and the transaction made without your consent.

As paypal would check ip addresses and devices and see you did make the transaction then of course they would say it was authorised.

So why not open non receipt of item OR did you pay using the friends / family option so you 'only' had the unauthorised option?

If so then you sent a gift of money as that option negates all your buyer protection.

Kudos / Solution appreciated.
