I recently was purchasing stuff on paypal (on steam) and logged into my account to find 2 unauthorized transactions from my account on 2 diffferent days. The first was on the 21st and the second was on the 22nd. I had changed my password the morning of the 22nd and by the afternoon there had been a charge for almost £70 on top of the original £49.50 charge from the day prior. I checked my computer from the day of the first transaction and saw that I had installed something the same day (thought to be trusted) and it had installed a key logger onto my PC. They gained access to my PayPal and multiple of my email accounts. The person using my account had bought stuff on my PayPal account then logged into my emails to then delete the receipts from PayPal (this is why I did not notice straight away) but they forgot to delete the emails from the 'trash' folder so I opened it to see a lot of opened emails including a 'Shipment' from one of the purchases from a site known as G2A. This was opened and I assume the person has got what they needed but I also noticed that they had tried to charge 2 payments to G2A and one of them was denied so I guess they moved to another website (known on my PayPal statement as CDKEYS) to make another purchase (£69.99) I have put a claim and multiple appeals into PayPal for this and they deem the transaction not unauthorised. What am I supposed to do in this situation as the customer service person said I could no longer appeal and I can not use my PayPal account (or close it for that matter) as I am nearly £120 in the negative. I have always used PayPal for their claimed protection for stuff like this but clearly they have no regard for this.
