Hi guys,
I bought a pair of snickers on Farfetch, they turned out to be 2 sizes bigger for me, I sent them back and this is the letter I received from Farfetch:
Sorry, our partner can’t accept your return
The SWEAR Air Revive Trigger sneakers was created just for you. Due to the bespoke nature of this order SWEAR is unable to accept returns or offer refunds.
My replay: The size is wrong so I cannot see how this is customized or bespoke for me. If it was then the size would be perfect.
OK I measured the insole length and it turned out - 26.5 centimeters, which corresponds to the international standard of size 41!! I sent the pictures to Farfetch and Paypal.
And PayPal has sent me this today:
We have reviewed this transaction(s) and are denying your claim(s). The decision was made because the purchase is ineligible for PayPal Purchase Protection according to our User Agreement.
Farfetch's replay:
I have sent the pictures to our partner and they have informed me that the shoe size can’t simply be measured by the insole length, it needs to be considered the foot volume or the last’s shape for example, and also it depends of the designer guidelines.
In this specific case it can’t be measured the insole edge to edge, once the foot doesn’t land in the insole extremities, otherwise the shoes would be very uncomfortable to wear, the insole makes a curve in the foot back to match the shoes shape.
My replay:
Perfect, but I made screenshots from your website (Farfetch) where there are no recommendations about the fact that the designer can use his own line of sizes, you do not specify the dimensions in centimeters, how could I possibly understand anything? They didn't ask me about the size of my foot, nothing! So everything should have been according to the international standard.

Ineligible items and transactions:
The following items or transactions are not eligible for PayPal’s Buyer Protection program:
- Significantly Not as Described claims for wholly or partly custom-made items
Sadly you are not covered by paypals buyer protection but you have the option of a credit card chargeback if you funded your paypal payment via a credit card? Or if the company is in the same country as yourself then do you have a small claims court you can file with?
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.
