Negative PayPal Balance

Will PayPal charge my bank account or my debit card if my account balance is in the negative due to a lost claim? Incredibly long story, but I am currently negative 1K due to a friend claiming they did not authorize several times they’ve sent me money. I’m terrified I’m going to lose and I need to know what’s going to happen when/if I do. Thanks in advanced!

Paypal can't take funds from your bank account without authorisation.

However IF you lose they will put the account into negative and limit its use.

If you don't pay the debt then they pass it on to a debt recovery firm to chase up with you.

Also if you try and buy anything that 'debt' would be added on to the purchase price so that when you pay you authorise the debt to be paid at the same time.
