I ordered a package on Ebay and it was never delivered to my address. I went to the post office and they showed me the tracking number for my package was addressed to another person and location in my city and it was delivered to that location. It also revealed that the weight of the package was 4oz and postage payed was under $3.00. I ordered 6 iphones... it's impossible that they would have weighed only 4 oz. PayPal closed my dispute saying that the seller provided tacking info showing delivery.... I don't have my package. The seller sent it to the wrong address and it never contained the proper weight for shipping the product. Why cant I have my money back? I've done over $100,000 dollars of business with PayPal and now I'm being treated like garbage. This seller stole my money. Please help.

Hello David

I have a watertight claim, which Paypal have found in seller's favour.

https://www.paypal-community.com/t5/Disputes-and-Limitations/Case-closed-in-seller-s-favour/td-p/190...

I gather that Paypal have instituted a new procedure where claims are always rejected.

Is it better to circumvent the Paypal buyer protection system entirely, as I am sure you will agree, it is broken, and advise people to only pay by credit card, and just go straight to the credit card company if they have a valid reason for a chargeback?

Whilst I could appeal this so called "decision" which I suspect is automated, since even a brief view of this will show the claim to be valid, given how I have been treated by Paypal so far, would it be time well spent?

Ought I really alert buyers to avoid paying by bank, paypal funds and debit card wherever I can so that Paypal have no choice but to deal fairly?

You can file your claim after a week they are denying this for the same reasons everyone else has listed but package went to another persons address in my same city and I’m out the money and the merchandise

Dear Acadia

You can make a county court claim against the seller. You may also have a valid claim against ebay or Paypal.

You can make a claim with multiple defendants, so it will be the case of the defendants battling it out.

For up to £300 the court filing fee is £25.

https://www.gov.uk/make-court-claim-for-money

My watertight claim for £250 was rejected by Paypal. I have tried to get some help from Paypal today, but to no avail. I have probably wasted about £100 worth of time so far as a result of Paypal's failures.

I have messaged paypal about 20 times by twitter today, and DM'ed them. Absolutely no response whatsoever. No guidance how to "appeal" the decision, which isn't really a considered decision anyway so nothing really to appeal IMO.

If you paid by credit card, write to them, ask for a chargeback. If you used a debit card, or paypal balance, I'd take them to court. You'd get a lot of satisfaction from doing that. If they don't pay, and you have entered a CCJ against them, send bailiffs to the offices to take equipment and auction it to the value.
