Product DOA , made in China, can't return from france, paypal gives ten days for a letter as proof.

Product arrived defected to france and can not return it

Custom guitar made in china with my name on the logo, problem is the guitar turned out to be defected,

Local French luthier who described it as  unrepairable, provided an expert letter.

Merchant agreed to replace the guitar, this dragged out for a month, paypal extended the time several times during production.

Merchant did not insist I drop the paypal case but instead said it was mistake and I will have to pay more to ship the old guitar back and HE DID NOT WANT IT as the shipping label clearly states it was made in China,

Paypal then decided that I should return the item and close the case,

I agreed to pick a guitar the merchant had in stock, merchant  said he will spray the guitar, Then gave me 2 different tracking numbers due to errors.

Paypal now gave me ten days to get a letter from the French post office to prove I can't ship this back to china, btw it says made in China and someone mentioned that china refuses products made in China,  I never heard this one.

Any advise  appreciated,

Thanks

I don't have a copy of what I did, but try these steps. link to this:

https://www.paypal.com/us/smarthelp/article/can-i-appeal-paypal%E2%80%99s-decision-on-my-case-faq205...

Find this:
"If you're not happy with the outcome of your case, we encourage you to reach out to the seller to reach an agreement or resolution. Most sellers aim to satisfy their buyers. PayPal's decisions are final, but if you have additional information that we haven't reviewed or if there's been a mistake in the processing of the case you can contact us."

Click "contact us".  Click on "disputes and account limitations".  I can't open it there because I don't have an open claim.  But at some point I got to a place where I chatted with a rep.  I gave all the information and they told me they would give me $30 towards shipping.  I disconnected and thought about it and contacted them again and got a different rep.  I told him I didn't understand the math, because I would be out $30, PayPal would be out $30 and what did the seller end up with. I pointed out there were numerous complaints against this seller all over the community pages.  At that point the rep stepped away to check something out and when he came back said they would give me a complete refund and I didn't need to return it to China.

I hope this helps.

seriously, you don't have to be a guitar player to notice something is wrong, and their ebay store offered 100 percent guaranty 2020-02-02 at 01.50.29.jpeg 2020-02-02 at 01.54.48.jpegGuitar factory red big flower with tremolo electric guitar fast shipping | eBay.jpg

if a seller takes 60-70 days to finish something, 3 weeks time shipping, and 15 days to reply after shipping how can he provide this Guaranty?

he was telling me that I should of never opened a paypal case and he would of instead sent a guitar replacement, beyond the time paypal can step in.

First of all thank you for your message,

I did contact paypal via chat, I mentioned in the long message above that I had chatted with paypal about 5 times in the last month or so since this virus started in China back in January too.

Should the merchant refund me, well, I showed him photos of the defected product he sent including a letter from an expert luthier with a signature confirming no one can repair the problem,  the merchant not only agreed to replace the product but he insisted that I don't sent the old one back, maybe a scam to waste time or to get me to close the case but I attached screenshots of ebay messages from the seller here,  I believe paypal can see our messages to determine this matter but they instead  decided it was best to send it back or I will not get a refund., so Maybe the merchant has a history of abusing the paypal system or simply that its all paypal can do., I didn't want a refund to be honest, but the truth is that a refund will allow me to simply re order from the same merchant or someone else. , problem is that I can't tell if the merchant is a creep.

But in such a rare times with a virus breaking out in china  I shared proof with paypal that

- the product arrived DOA,

-the merchant does not want me to return it but paypal does and private companies charge astronomical prices.

-China can't accept it as it was "made in China" product.

-I can't send it back via the French post office because the French Government has blocked all shipments to China,

-On the French Government website it states that the block has been lifted since a few days ago, but I was at the post office a few days ago and they told me it did not matter, that the website is out of sync with what's going on and they won't ship it,

-PayPal asked for a letter from the post office to confirm I can't send anything to China, I was given ten days to provide this letter 4 days ago.

-Yesterday I visited the post office again about the letter and they said who ever told me this has no idea what they are talking about, a reclamation letter will take 30 days and its nothing to do with shipping to china, its to do with a current issue of shipment with a tracking number, which I still did not even get.

Now im here with no clues.

French post office is full of it, they are colluding with China if your American, they won't do nothing about a return and instead ignore you,

Its like wrong full arrests or persecution, the state will never admit one of their officers or employees did anyone wrong cause the law suites will be enormous, instead anyone who the victim goes to (Civil or human rights etc) will get a piece of the action or favour from the crooks and the only way this is put to a stop is if people hit the streets and demand justice., forget paying an attorney, he or she will tell you its not worth it.

Hi

Most recent conversation with the French post was exactly that, The French post asked me to send them a receipt proving what I sent back to a merchant yesterday,  I never mentioned that this was merchandise been returned to a merchant in China once on the phone yesterday or prior to this, yet they know this and are asking for a receipt,

After speaking to someone else I decided to call the French post this morning and I was told that the person who I spoke to yesterday was was incorrect  and I have to wait yet again for the party who received the item to update the tracking info, is this not the job of both  Chinese and French post, and why doe snot the French post do it if they know it arrived in China and where it is?????

I remind you all who are reading this that this item I purchased back in October 2019, it was finally returned MONTHS ago after waiting around the void 19 issues,

Conclusion, the French post is claiming China received the returned item, but simply did not update this info online,

My conclusion, why is not the post office updating who received the item and where its stuck if that's the case?

Why is not the French post office holding China Post responsible for the loss of this item if its the case?

Who are you supposed to complain to if your package is lost or the French post is claiming they know who received the package but its them who update the tracking info so paypal can read it.
