Was it one of these???
Chinese Web Sites or on Social Media ads easy to spot (once you know the below signs) so buyer beware.
1. No return address on the returns policy............thats because the site will look as if its in your country (where they despatch goods from) BUT they will ask for returns to go back to China (returns depot) at a shipping cost nearly always more than the item is worth.
2. No contact telephone number............if you click on contact the most you will get is webmail or an email address.
3. No company address information.
4. Great looking items at bargain prices that turn out to be tat.
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.

I to bought one from description saying moving interactive teddy dog hard to tell it’s not real, each one is hand made making each one unique.
it was just a cheap toy dog produced from a production line- PayPal told me to return it for a refund- I replied saying I wasn’t paying £12 to return as I would be well out of pocket and the fraud company would sell it on to someone else- PayPal obviously don’t read what you write as they denied the case as there was no proof I posted and closed the case. Talk about encourage these fraud company’s to trade and rip people off, I’m disgusted at PayPal and feel like never using PayPal again. I’d follow up with trading standards if I could find a link to do it.

I too fell victim to this scam. Same thing, expensive $50.00 robotic dog, I rec'd cheap toy dog. I contacted merchant and they offered me significant refund which I refused because I wanted FULL refund because of scam. Having read the comments here, I think I should have accepted. I was sure PayPal would stand behind me and get me full refund. Looks like that is not the case. Very disappointing.
Also, It looks like Paypal's policy in this situation, even when it's an obvious scam, is that buyer must pay for return shipping to China of the cheap little doggie. Why? This is a significant penalty to the buyer/PayPal user who was scammed. Very disappointing.
