Refund after cancellation of Holiday Transfer service.

Hi All, I booked a transfer through Hoppa and paid by Paypal. Hoppa contacted me to say their supplier needed more details of my resort apartment address (Greek Post Code) but to add this I'd need to cancel my original booking and make a new one. I cancelled and when I came to re book the price had gone up 20% ( this was only the day after the original) so I didn't bother and asked for a refund. Hoppa say they'll allow free cancellation up to 48hours before your holiday - this booking was for September , so well in time limit. Hoppa are not answering my emails but are sending me , and probably everyone on their books, emails virtually begging people to buy vouchers for future transfers from them. From that I'm surmising they are in difficulties.  My problem is I thought I'd be covered by Paypal for this but they keep denying my claim even though I have sent them a copy of the email  with proof of  Hoppa's  cancellation policy Stating 'This decision was made because your billing dispute doesn't match our qualification for a billing dispute'. Paypal have not even offered to contact Hoppa.  What else can I do?

I am currently at the start of the resolution process with PayPal, a payment method I trust and have never had to sue the resolution centre however I hope on this occasion they do come up with the goods - I am in the same position and will be unable to use any credits in the future within the given timescale - I purchased a trip on a specific date not a voucher so fingers crossed

When I put a claim in to PayPal to claim my refund from Hoppa which took 3 weeks to get an outcome I received a reply from PayPal only today saying I had received the goods or service and that the case is now closed!! What more can I do?

This obviously means that by hoppa issuing credit vouchers they are fulfilling the contract. I think it stinks personally and should be against the law.

Hi , I did eventually get my money back through Paypal. You need to 'Chat' with them as the claims process is very automated and will rule against you if you make the slightest error in your complaint.

I tried the chat service with Paypal after you said to try that method. It didn’t work. PayPal still say that Hoppa are delivering a service by issuing credit notes.
