Same problem, and on top of that Paypal has rejected my claim because it's "ineligible for PayPal Purchase Protection according to our User Agreement."

Hello,

my flight was cancelled too on march 2020 and I payed for the tickets on January 2020; now I would like my money back but Ryanair is not responding at any request.

Now I would like to know, is it worth to apply for a claim?

Has anyone got a refund for Ryanair cancelled flight?

What does Paypal say about this?
Anybody from Paypal assistance can help us?

Thank you.

I am having the same issue - I paid £433 for my flight in Jan and it's now May - still no reply from Paypal on my dispute.

I have applied for a refund through Paypal due to all of the reasons mentioned here already, basically boils down to Ryanair being thieves. I'm at a stage with Paypal where they have reviewed my claim, and reviewed Ryanair's response which was that they offered my a voucher. I've replied and demanded my money back as I declined the voucher so we'll see what happens next.

I can't believe how difficult this is and the fact that we, the consumer, are just left waiting whilst being ignored. It's not on.

A quick update on this. I won my case thanks for Paypal and will be receiving a refund within 5 days, so my advice is to hang in there and be patient, Paypal will help you it seems! Ryanair did reply by saying they'd offer my a voucher but fight back and ask for your money back, Paypal will then do this for you. It took a few weeks but we got there.

scottycross, how long did it take from start to finish to get your money back? I paid for my tickets in March, was due to travel in July, received cancellation notice on 20th May, tried liaising with Ryanair but just got the same old "here, have some vouchers" treatment. Raised a case on 15 June but it's still showing as being under review. Would be good to have an idea of how long it's likely to take. Thanks.

The purchase is purchase, Paypal must protect in 6 months after the payment. I got refund from Paypal few weeks ago

Well you are lucky, but some of us bought our tickets early (i.e. more than 180 days ago) so PayPal are useless here. They just referred me to my credit card, who will not assist because.... I used PayPal to purchase the tickets! I will not be using PayPal to buy air tickets any time soon.

My credit card refused to lodge a chargeback with Air France who cancelled and tried to force me to accept vouchers. Apparently they have received advice from Visa and MAstercard not to process claims due to Coronavirus. I told them my flight was cancelled by the airline and I did not get goods or services as promised so I should be entitled to a refund. I read the statement from Mastercard and it only relates to chargebacks where you couldnt go on a flight or stay in a hotel because of travel restrictions etc. Having a nightmare of a time with 5 different sets of flights with Air France, Lufthansa, Easyjet, Ryan Air & Emirates.
