While scrolling Facebook early Nov 2020 an add for Sea Glass Christmas Tree comes up. I'm enchanted and the item seems to be everything nifty for a real sea glass tree 6" high. I order the item. I now can't remember the name of the company but when the order arrives 3 weeks later, FROM China, the 3" tall, plastic Christmas tree with lit bottom is NOTHING like what I ordered and is valued on the receipt at $1. I paid $19.95, and approx. $23 with tax. I was totally ripped off and the packaging label doesn't indicate enough, I don't think for me to go on. Does this information mean anything to anyone?

How do I open a dispute with a seller when a purchase goes wrong?
You can open a dispute in the Resolution Centre of your PayPal account within 180 days of payment if:
•You don’t receive the item OR service
•You receive an item but it’s significantly different than the description on eBay or on the seller’s website
By opening a dispute, you can communicate directly with your seller to work out a problem transaction.
If you reach an agreement with the seller you can close the dispute. If you're still not happy with the result, you can escalate the dispute into a claim. Paypal will review the claim and decide on reimbursement.
These steps apply to Personal accounts. If you have a Business account, please log in to see the steps that apply to you.
To open a dispute:
1.Log in to your PayPal account.
2. Click on the transaction and use the resolve a problem option at the bottom of that details page.
Note:
•Generally buyers must wait at least 7 days from the date of payment to escalate a dispute for an item not received
•Where an item has not been received, please ensure you have given the seller enough time before opening a dispute
DO NOT CLOSE THE DISPUTE UNTIL YOU HAVE A CLEARED REFUND OR YOUR ITEM WHATEVER THE SELLER SAYS. ALSO DON'T FORGET TO ESCALATE THE DISPUTE TO A CLAIM WITHIN 20 DAYS IF THE SELLER DOES NOT REFUND.
If you lose because seller provides a fake tracking number (likely) then post back for more advice.
If the item arrives and its tat the make sure you CHANGE the dispute quickly before it closes to 'not as described'.
If that does not work then if you funded your paypal payment via a card then contact your card issuer and see if they will do a chargeback for you.
Also make sure you have activated the below link in case you have to return it....or one for your country.

Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.

I had the same problem. Recently received a junky plastic tree worth about $1 instead of the sea glass tree I paid $23 for. I tried contacting them to no avail. Sad.

I was also scammed by this company and PayPal closed my case saying it was delivered. Did anyone get their money back from PayPal? This seller has since closed their website so it was a scam. I am going to contact Facebook too as they supported this business.

So sorry the same thing happened to you with Sea Glass Christmas Tree from China SCAM. As you may have read I was never able to secure ANY progress with PAYPAL regarding a refund or even getting them to investigate the company. I am irritated with PAYPAL marking my complaint as 'RESOLVED". At any rate, there is nothing that irritates me more then being scammed so I pursued my complaint through AmEx. As usual I found AmEx well worth the cost of the card. Service with AmEx remains outstanding !! I was able to get a full refund on my purchase of this crappy little plastic tree. So....I am suggesting that while PAYPAL doesn't do anything productive on this front, reach back to your credit card company and try that route. Best, Tracey Heilbrun
