Sellers who sell Automobile Tires at eBay should disclose Manufacture Date!

Hello good people!

Excuse if this is not totally what is expected at PayPal Community but, this is not totally a Question per say but, rather an alert to those who might be looking for Automobile Tires over at eBay.  My only quest here is to educate those that might be seeking new or used Automobile Tires for their family vehicle and nothing more.

Most of these transactions are done via PAY PAL and hence my primary reason to come here and provide the same information as I have posted from the eBay Community page.

Therefore, here's my text from the eBay Community Page - Member-To-Member Support.

I am not here to bad mouth any seller or demean their hard earned Feedback ratings but, today I had a very bad feeling from one particular seller that was selling a particular brand of tire that I was interested.  Apart from the "Bidding" back and forth and his/her (Seller) taking off the Return feature OUT OF THE DEAL because someone like me came along and offered this seller a Bid instead of purchasing the tire(s) at asking price, I am still shaken to the point that any Seller of Automobile Tires should disclose the manufacture date of the tires they are selling!

Why?   -----> Because even though they maybe BRAND NEW, Tires decay and after a number of years (at least in Florida) the professionals ask customers to purchase new tires after they go beyond 6 years of age (this goes for brand news tires that have NOT been mounted).  Tires decay and after 6 -to- 7 years of age they are now suspect to many issues internal to the tire according to tire professionals.

As my attached pictures, (NOT ATTACHING ANYTHING HERE SINCE IT IS PAY PAL) it shows that this particular Tire Seller repeatedly did NOT answer my questions as to what was the Manufacture Date of these tires I was interested.  I don't know about you all but, my family is riding on these and it really helps to know this very important fact besides the other parameters that most sellers disclose such as the Uniform Tire Quality Grade Code (UTOG) and other Tire specification data are good but, in my opinion eBay needs to take notice on the DATE OF MANUFACTURE as well.

I am amazed that this very important information about ANY Tire being SOLD at eBay is not being disclosed by many Tire Sellers like that one I came across today and this seller NEVER answered my question(s) about the data of manufacture.

I do hope that people take notice on this issue and eBay comes to terms with their POLICY on such an important topic about future mandatory disclosure of DATE OF MANUFACTURE of ALL TIRES being sold at eBay!  (This applies to PAY PAL in my opinion as it is how people purchase these tires with unknown Date of Manufacture.)

Thank you for your patience, time and attention.

Ebay is a fleamarket,many items are found in attics,basement,storage auction,estate auction,garbage dump,liquidations,remnants,refurbished,rejects ,condition vary.

if there is an expiration date, then buyer should pay attention ,like vitamin pills, food ?

good to know now we have to ask about tires, thanks for posting
