Hi, My name is Sabrina. actually I registered a 4 weeks free trial cooking and baking course at Shaw Academy .they say it was a full free trial but when I register I need to add some bank details if I wish to continue after 4 weeks they charge for that.so I add my PayPal account as it is safest way.after complete registration they setting a class schedule for me but next day it was automatically cancel and reschedule and say you were successfully completed your course but I wasn't sit on the lesson.there is a recorded lesson clip but there is nothing in this is only 29 second and then they deducted three times money from my bank account once £40 another £50 and then 40 pound against total one £130 deducted from my account I don't know how and when and when I'm contacted with them they say I purchased manually toolkit and modoul 1 and also certificate or something like that they can not refund me but I didn't purchased anything from them and it was a free course why I purchased and and I research there is loads of people who are lost their money not only me and trustpilot have a case against shaw Academy .I claim a dispute on PayPal but paypal say this is the authorised payment because I set my bank account when I'm registered.this is a total scam and I need my full refund. during lockdown and pandemic 130 pound is a big amount for me. so I need help and suggestions from other people how to get refund or help from PayPal management. thank you.

I had the exact same issue with the baking course and yesterday (2 weeks in), they charged me 199.95GDP. Like you say, PayPal assume that because you clicked PayPal as payment at the initial point of the free trial, you have given consent there onwards for anything. I can only recommend to contact your bank, which I have done. Not sure what will happen to that.

Never never use PayPal again. It is not secure.

Hi Sabrina

Did you manage to resolve your issue with the dodgy Shaw Academy? I'm one of their latest victims 😞 £200, which is a lot of money right now, has been taken by them. And they are unwilling to return any of it and PayPal have said that they can't place Buyer Protection of any of those payments. Which means they can't/won't help me. That's really terrible. I hope you got your money back. I really don't want to see them keep on getting away with this...
