I Filed a dispute and now it is closed, but I don't understand what the answer means?

I filed for a chargeback because the company I bought 6 bridesmaid dresses from, sent some made wrong and one moldy, I traded e-mails with the comapny and they agreed that they were badly made and offered to remake them.

We said ok and then waited and waited and they did not come within the 2 months they said the remake would take, when we tried to get a hold of them they would not answer e-mails at all.

I filed the case with my Mastercard company and Paypal notified me of the dispute and to wait for the seller to respond.

I have head nothing at all since from paypal, but today I went to check the status and it says the case is closed because

"The case is closed because there is insufficient evidence to dispute the chargeback"

Does that mean we get our money back or does that mean the buyer gets to keep my payment? I don't understand why I haven't been notified by Paypal of the result, is that normal?

I was always under the assumption from reading the PayPal guidelines a long time ago, perhaps this has been changed through the years, but you can either file a claim with your credit card issuer OR PayPal in credit card funded purchases, so its strange that PayPal would contact you instead of your credit card issuer as you filed it with them.  That being said, "The case is closed because there is insufficient evidence to dispute the chargeback" sounds like they mean there is not enough evidence to disagree, argue, or debate the chargeback so I take it you maybe getting a refund but I'd double check with your credit card issuer and PayPal before getting TOO happy.  🙂

Yeah but who really knows about these things at the end of the day.  Sometimes I would miss getting a notification here and there too from PayPal but one must follow up manually if there's a problem one is aware of.  Could be an email delivery issue error or emails ending up hidden in spam folders.  Anyways, Good luck!

Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂
