I mispelled the name in an email address of the person i was supposed to be sending a gift amount of £100 to. The status is complete although the money has not left my bank account yet. I have emailed the recipient of the money numerous times but they ignore me. I then panicked & opened a dispute, only problem is that i put it as unauthorised action and really should have put it as unrecieved item. Really stuck here & don't know what to do next. Thanks

Does not matter what you opened the dispute for it would not help as buyer protection does not cover gift payments.
Just keep trying the person you sent it to and they may just refund you.

Oh, i read on a similar comment that if they will not refund my money then paypal will get involved if it is reported as non reciept of goods as i would have paid them money but got nothing in return. This was also a gift payment.

I think some changes need to be made to paypal in that case. It is very easy to mistype an email address and there are not many honest people in the world as i have unfortunately discovered by losing £100. Does not even give you the chance to check details before it sends.

I don't think paypal should be responsible for someone not being able to correctly type in an email address.
They give you plenty of protection but can't take you by the hand and walk you through every transaction.
