ParcelHero.com - Unjustified additional amount asked for

Hi All,

I'm facing a weird experience with ParcelHero.com which I want to consult and share my thoughts on the transaction I've had with this company.

I used this service to deliver a parcel based on feedback on their side which I presumed to be actual customer feedback. The total cost of this service while paying through paypal was £333.81 odd pounds. The booked weight of the parcel was around 65 -70 odd Kgs whereas the actual parcel weight sent was 61 odd kgs. I did not want to get into penny issues and hence, had booked for additional weight knowing I was not going to use it.

The parcel was delivered fine but I'm now being asked to pay and additional £137 which they have calculated after the shipment was delivered to be some 118KGs or so as volumetric weight. This I find it as absurd as I'm being asked to pay the difference in the weight now which almost double the actual weight.

I was not shown this additional weight or the amount when I paid but am being asked for it now after the delivery. The whole dispute is around this absurd weight they have calculated and the transparency in this transaction which I was not shown while I booked them. I tried mailing them couple of times but have not received any response except this invoice.

Had this additional amount been shown to me earlier, I would never have opted them as DHL is far cheaper and comes with no hidden costs!!!

Could I please request you to guide me on how to proceed with this case as I'm unable to open a dispute due to Paypal site restrictions?

With warm regards,

- Avadhut

I've just had the same. Booked two parcels because they were a £1 or £2 cheaper. Came back to me with both deliveries saying I was over my volume weight and charged me an extra £112 on one parcel and £47 on the other. This is around 7 times more than the initial cost. I have used lots of couriers with my business and never had any disputes. It must be illegal but they have taken the £159 from my PayPal account without me being able to dispute it. I am going to report and do my best though. Places heed everyone, never ever use parcel hero.

Hi guys.

Welcome to the Community!

I'm sorry to hear of the difficulties that you both were experiencing when trying to purchase postage from ParcelHero.com.

Disputes on postage charges and postage rates would need to be taken up directly with the merchant I'm afraid. There would not be much that PayPal would be able to do in regards to requesting a refund on the payments for you.

REVOKE their "pre-approved payments" status IMMEDIATELY when you get the email. Its a tab on your Paypal Profile page. Same thing happened me. Looks like they are serial scammers, endless complaints ignored.

I luckily found honest reviews as I waited for pick-up & photographed package with dimensions/weight. The figures they quote are simply made-up lies & I have proof but I'm not going to hang around and let them rip me off then try to get a refund.
