Craigslist chargeback scammer? Story

Hello everyone.

I never posted here before. I have lots of experience using eBay/Paypal with tons of transactions. Now I was wondering is there anyway I can report suspicious activity? I mean is there anyway Paypal can do an investigation on someones account to see if they had any recent chargebacks? People like this are scum.

If you have a minute or 2 here is the story (im sure some of you read similar stories)

Ok. I had my Droid X for sale on Craigslist, and had lots of interest it'll most likely be sold by tomorrow. Anyways last night I was watching Entourage and got a email from a girl named Kim..

- first email

Do you still have this?

http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/mob/1913559989.html

I replied saying yes

- second email

I am local, in KOP. I am interested; do you accept papal? Could we meet at KOP mall around lunchtime?

(so right away I asked her to call me)

- third email (her response)

I am actually in bed, but I can call you in the am? What is a good meeting area for you?

(I told her we could meet me at my Bank, Starbucks, or even a Police Station if she didn't feel safe) Then I asked if she wanted the extra 32GB MicroSD card that costed $100 more.

- fourth email

That should work. Yes, I want 32gb card. Will it be ok to pay via paypal? I can have my husband set time to meet you.

I can accept Paypal but I would only accept a Gift Payment for 2 reasons..

1. fees of course

2. and if you were to pay by goods Paypal would require shipping info/documentation so then I went on

For all I know you could actually do a chargeback against me. It's happened to me before. if you wanna meet tomorrow and check the phone out and everything is good I would prefer cash.

- last email

My Son is not looking for a Droid X, but rather a Dell Streak. He just corrected me as he is on ATT, not Verizon. I am sorry about all of the confusion.

Thanks for all tho,

~Kim~

I just woke up and got her last email so her son must of "corrected" her between 3-5 AM

If there is anything I can do to have her account investigated? I would even pay if there is a way... It's people like her that need to learn a lesson I am 99.9% she is a scammer..

And the funny thing is I have gotten another email that was very similar but it was a Guy teling he was from King of Prussia area and he could do paypal and pick it up.

Thanks for your time

She's not a scammer or she wouldn't have ended the sale.

She's just uninformed.

You should never take Paypal for pickup items, though - you have no seller protection at all.

I disagree with you. This definitely feels lke a scam to me

She tried paypaling me first and have her "husband" meet me the following day.. As soon as asked her to call me she had an excuse, and then I told her id prefer cash and meet at my bank or send me a gift payment she was no longer interested.

Chargeback scammers are slick you'd be surprised some even do it as a living...

wow why do people on forums say that lmao what are you 10? "Look at my post count" I get all the girls.... Dude I been on eBay since 1995 I don't care if you waste your time posting away on a help forum.

You are clearly not helping much because my story was actually a scam. I emailed her under a different account randomly just asking her if she was still interested in the 2 iPhone 4s.. Now this was random obviously I had no idea if she even messaged anyone about iPhone 4s and she said she wanted to get them immediately and would have her husband pick them up while she pays paypal...

Maybe when I get my posts up ill be as cool as you hey when are you getting a job at PP?
