I just received this email and I am wondering if this is a phishing scam?

Hello Jeanette <removed>,

PayPal has made some changes to its Electronic Communication Delivery Policy. Because of these changes, PayPal is asking all of its members to consent to receiving information regarding their PayPal account electronically (e.g., through email, web pages and .pdf files).

If you have not provided your consent to this updated policy by January 31, 2012, your PayPal account will be temporarily deactivated and you will not be able to use your PayPal account to make purchases or send or receive money. What this means for you, a PayPaltm Smart Connect Cardholder, is that you will not be able to use your PayPal Smart Connect Card as a payment method in your PayPal account and you will not be able to service your PayPal Smart Connect Card account online until you provide your consent to the updated PayPal policy.

It's easy to ensure continued access to your account. Just follow these steps:

  1. Visit www.PayPal.com and login to your account
  2. Read and agree to the Electronic Communications Delivery Policy
  3. Enjoy continued access to your account

If you have questions about this updated policy, contact PayPal at www.paypal.com/contactus or go to the PayPal Help Center.
