Received a phone call from 402-935-7733 with caller ID of "PayPal Inc." to verify a fraudulent charge report. I had never made such a report nor did the transaction appear on my statement online. I refused to give any account information over the phone. I later called PayPal's 888 number to report the situation. I was told that the number is NOT PayPal and it was not a legitimate phone call.
texas408- Very sorry for the confusion. That number is our normal customer service contact number. Depending on your account type, we may provide this number or the 888 number. I do know that sometimes our back offices will call customers to verify if they made a transaction (much like a credit card company will do so if they see something out of the ordinary). So we were probably trying to contact you to make sure there were no issues.
