how can i receive money/funds from friends and family with a personal paypal account?

there is all sorts of info about sending it, but not receiving it

The sender sends the money to your PayPal email address, the email address you log on with, through PayPal website or PayPal app. Then you receive a payment email confirmation from PayPal. Log on to verify your payment is in your PayPal account, then you transfer the money to your linked bank account or eligible debit card.
